Ford repair and service in Cortland, OH, at Super Tire & Muffler

Ford builds the most common trucks and SUVs on the road around here, and we see all of them: F-150 and Super Duty pickups that tow and work for a living, Explorer and Escape SUVs that run the daily routine, the Edge and Bronco, plus the Mustang and the cars that came before. Whatever you drive with the blue oval on it, we work on it.

We are an independent, family-owned shop, not a Ford dealer, and for most owners that is the point. You get ASE-certified technicians, the diagnostic tools to read a modern Ford computer, and quality parts through our NAPA network, without the dealer markup or the wait. We look it over, call you with what we find, put it in writing, and do not start until you say go.

The Freeman family has been doing this in Cortland since 1980. We work on Fords for folks all over Trumbull County and Northeast Ohio, domestic and import alike, cars through light and medium trucks and vans. Walk in or call ahead. An appointment cuts your wait, but we will not turn you away.

Good to know about your Ford

  • Ford's EcoBoost engines are turbocharged, so staying on schedule with quality oil and a clean air intake matters more than on an older naturally aspirated engine. We can set you up on the right interval.
  • Super Duty trucks that tow and plow are hard on brakes, front-end parts, and fluids. Catching wear early on a work truck is cheaper than waiting for it to fail on the job.

What we handle on your Ford

  • F-150 and Super Duty brake jobs, suspension, and steering
  • Oil changes and scheduled maintenance for EcoBoost and V8 engines
  • Check engine light diagnosis and drivability work
  • Cooling system, water pump, and overheating repairs
  • Exhaust and muffler repair, including welded and direct-fit work
  • Tires for trucks, SUVs, and cars, mounted and balanced
  • Battery, starter, and alternator testing and replacement
  • Front-end and alignment work that saves your tires
Common questions

Ford service, answered.

Straight answers for Ford owners in Cortland and Trumbull County.

Do I have to take my Ford to the dealer for service?
No. For routine maintenance and most repairs you are free to use an independent shop like ours. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act means using us for maintenance does not void your factory warranty, as long as quality parts are used, which is exactly what we do. The dealer is not your only option.
Will getting my Ford serviced here void my factory warranty?
No, not for normal maintenance and repairs with quality parts. Federal law protects your right to choose where you get the work done. Keep your records and receipts, which we provide, and your warranty stays intact. If a repair is actually a warranty item, we will tell you so you can decide.
Can you work on the EcoBoost and the diesel engines?
Yes. We service Ford's EcoBoost turbo engines and the V8s, and we work on diesel trucks too. We have the scan tools to read a modern Ford and the experience to fix it. Tell us your engine and what it is doing and we will go from there.
Do you do F-150 and Super Duty truck repair?
Yes, trucks are a big part of what we do. We handle brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, exhaust, and tires on half-ton F-150s through the heavier Super Duty trucks. We service light and medium-duty trucks and vans, so a working Ford pickup is right in our wheelhouse.
My Ford's check engine light is on. Can you diagnose it?
Yes. We plug in, read every stored and pending code, and then do the hands-on testing to confirm the real cause instead of just throwing a part at it. We call you, explain it in plain English, and give you a written estimate. If we do the repair, the scan is free.
Can you get Ford parts, or do I need OEM from the dealer?
We source quality parts through our NAPA network and other suppliers, and we can get most Ford parts quickly. For many repairs a quality replacement part is every bit as good as the dealer part, often for less. If your situation calls for an OEM part, we will tell you.
Do you need an emissions test for a Ford in Trumbull County?
No. Trumbull County is not in Ohio's E-Check area, so there is no local emissions test requirement here. If your Ford has a check engine light, we can still scan it and fix whatever is causing it.
Do you work on older Fords and Mustangs too?
Yes. We have been at this since 1980 and we still enjoy the older trucks, cars, and Mustangs along with the newest models. Bring it in and we will give you an honest look at what it needs and what it is worth doing.
