When a fuel system cleaning helps, and when it does not
A cleaning can make a real difference when the problem is dirty injectors or carbon buildup causing a rough idle, mild hesitation, or a small mileage drop. Clearing that gunk out lets the injectors spray properly again and the engine run smoother. For a car with a lot of miles and no recent fuel service, it can be worth doing.
What a cleaning will not do is fix a mechanical failure. A dead injector, a clogged filter, a weak fuel pump, or a bad sensor needs the actual part addressed, not a bottle of cleaner. That is why we test first. If a cleaning is the right call, we will say so; if it would be a waste of your money, we will tell you that instead.
