How we decide between repair and replace
Not every major engine problem means a new engine, and not every old engine is worth saving. We base the recommendation on what the diagnosis shows, the condition and mileage of the rest of the vehicle, and the cost of each path. If a repair will get you reliable miles for a reasonable cost, we will tell you. If you would be better off with a replacement engine, we will tell you that too.
Either way you get a written estimate, explained in plain terms, and nothing starts without your approval. The goal is for you to make the call with good information, not pressure. We would rather lose a job than talk someone into spending money that does not make sense.

- Oil can burn from worn valve seals or piston rings, or it can leak onto hot parts from a failing gasket or seal. The fix depends on where it is going, so we trace it first. Running an engine low on oil is hard on it, so it is worth checking sooner than later.
- How much does engine repair cost?
- It depends entirely on what is wrong, which is why we diagnose first and never quote blind. Once we know the cause, we call you with a written estimate and the work starts on your approval. There are no surprise charges and no upsells.
- Can you fix an oil leak, or do I just keep topping it off?
