How to reset your tire pressure light
Super Tire & Muffler · Updated June 20, 2026
The tire-pressure (TPMS) light usually means a tire is low. The correct fix is to set your pressures first, then let the system reset, not just clear the light and keep driving.
- 1
Set every tire to the correct PSI
Fill all four tires to the pressure on your driver door-jamb sticker. This is the actual fix; the light is just the messenger.
- 2
Try driving to auto-reset
Many vehicles relearn on their own after driving about 10 minutes above 15–20 mph once pressures are correct.
- 3
Use the reset button or menu
If it does not clear, check your owner's manual. Some vehicles have a TPMS reset button or a dashboard-menu relearn you hold with the ignition on.
- 4
Watch whether it comes back
If the light stays off, you are done. If it returns, you likely have a slow leak or a failing sensor.
Rather we handle it? If the light keeps coming back, comes on flashing, or will not reset, bring it in. We will find the leak or test the sensors and get it sorted.
