Short answer
Most oil changes take 30 to 45 minutes, and usually under an hour at our shop. That includes the oil and filter change plus a visual safety check of belts, hoses, tires, and visible fluid levels. Calling ahead or booking an appointment cuts the wait; walk-ins are welcome but can wait longer on busy mornings.
What the visit includes
The time covers more than draining oil. We change the oil and filter, set the level, reset the maintenance reminder, and do a visual safety check while the vehicle is up: belts, hoses, tire condition and pressure, and any visible leaks. That check is how small problems get caught early, and it is part of every oil change here.
If the check turns up something worth fixing, it does not just land on the bill. We call you with what we found and a free written estimate, and any extra work starts only on your go-ahead.
What can stretch the wait
The work itself is quick; the wait depends on the line. Saturday mornings and the first warm stretch of spring fill up fast, and a walk-in behind three other cars will wait longer than the oil change actually takes. Calling ahead or booking an appointment is the surest way to be in and out in under an hour.
On the vehicle side, a cartridge-style filter in a tight engine bay, a stubborn drain plug, or a skid plate that has to come off can add a few minutes. Nothing dramatic, but it is why we say “usually” under an hour rather than quoting a stopwatch time.
Wait or drop off?
